A 24-ball innings from Venkatesh Iyer helped Kolkata Knight Riders register their first 50-run partnership for the IPL 2022 season. In what appears to be their 6th opening pair change, it can be said that this opening pair has worked for KKR who needs to win their remaining games by a big margin to keep them in contention for the playoffs.
Iyer unleashed a fury against the Mumbai Indians where he went on to hit 3 fours and 4 sixes and boasted a strike rate of 179 in his fiery innings. With Ajinkya Rahane back on the team and giving him a steady companionship, the duo safely reached the 50-run mark.
