Raj Bawa was signed up by PBKS for 2 crores, U-19 captain Yash Dhull was signed up by DC for 50 lakhs and Hangargekar was roped in by CSK for 1.5 crores. Amongst the trio, only Bawa got to play two IPL games for PBKS. He scored 11 runs and was dropped from the remainder of the games.
Dhull and Hangargekar are warming the benches and have not a got a look in. Both the players are soaking in all the knowledge from the senior players and coaching staff. Vicky Ostwal was picked by DC for his base price, but he too has not got a game.

- However, CSK, DC, and PBKS have preferred experienced players like Pretorious, Lalit Yadav, and Rishi Dhawan respectively
- Barring Pretorious, who has international experience, Yadav and Dhawan are proven performers in the Ranji circuit.
- This is the first time in 14 IPL years that have gone by that the U-19 players have got very few chances.
