Hangargekar has had quite a few tough months since being picked in the IPL auction. Reports of age fudge allegations began to emerge and his IPL participation was in doubt. However, the BCCI though are unlikely to take any action for the time being

The Under-19 World Cup star would hope to show his all-around skills in IPL. Hangargekar might get enough opportunities this season as all-rounder Deepak Chahar is set to miss the majority of IPL due to a quadriceps tear. CSK skipper MS Dhoni might groom him like Chahar and give him enough freedom to express himself.

Meanwhile, Dhoni began training alongside his CSK teammates on Sunday (March 6). The team assembled at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat on March 2. The defending champions will kickstart IPL 2022 by playing a match against KKR on March 26.
