Suresh Raina made his broadcast debut on Star Sports pre-match show ahead of the IPL 2022 season opener between CSK and KKR. Raina, who spent all but three seasons of his IPL career with CSK, was emotional to see his team take the field as he watched on from the sidelines offering his take on things.

Suresh Raina is one of the leading run-getters in IPL history, amassing well over 5000 runs in the tournament. He was however dropped after poor form last season and CSK opted against retaining him ahead of the auctions. In the auction, Raina found no takers at his base price of Rs 2 crore, and ended up unsold, eventually leading to his shift to commentary.
