Here, Insidesport.in looks at five South Afrcian stars who could earn big bucks in the IPL 2022 auction.

1. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock will miss a part of the series against India but the South African wicketkeeper still will be one of the biggest draws of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Proteas opener remains one of the most consistent run getters in the shorter formats of the game and enjoyed a stunning stint with the Mumbai Indians, helping them to IPL titles in 2019 and 2020. Quinton de Kock is an experienced campaigner in the IPL, plundering 2256 runs at a strike rate of 130.93 making him an asset to teams in search for a keeper and an opening batter.

2. Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada is amongst the finest fast bowlers in world cricket right now, and the South African speedster will certainly demand the big bucks in the IPL 2022 mega auction. A purple cap winner in IPL 2020, Rabada was a revelation to the Delhi Capitals side, helping them reach the playoffs in each of their last three seasons. Kagiso Rabada’s ability to bowl pace upfront with the new ball and then back it up accurate yorkers and variations at the death make him one of the finest all round bowlers in the auction pool, and an eye catching buy for the franchises.

3. Lungi Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi is also amongst South Africa’s promising pace battery and could find suitors lined up for his services in the upcoming auction. Much like Rabada, Ngidi can bowl both with the new ball and the old, and has penchant for chipping in with wickets. The Proteas quick has been part of CSK for the last few seasons, helping them win titles in 2018 and 2021. In 14 matches, the 25-year-old has 25 wickets, a testament to his skills as a quality fast bowler.

4. Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram made his IPL debut in the second phase of IPL 2021 but made his mark in a rather disappointing campaign for the Punjab Kings. In 6 matches, Markram chipped in 146 runs at a middling strike rate of 122, while also doubling up as a part time spinner, bowling just four overs at an economy of less than 6. However, the Proteas floater had a fine T20 World Cup, scoring the joint fastest 50 of the tournament while consistently bowling well in the powerplay. Aiden Markram’s all-round ability along with his versatility to occupy any slot in the batting order makes him an interesting purchase at the auction and teams will certainly have an eye on him.

5. Marco Jensen

Marco Jansen showed glimpses of his potential in the limited game time he received with the Mumbai Indians, but the South African quick continues to make giant strides in cricket. The 22-year-old earned a call up to the Test side against India, after impressing with a fine century in the preceding A series. A left arm quick with the ability to strike lusty blows down the order, Jansen offers a Chris Morris-like package and teams will certainly keep an eye on him as they look to balance out their plans in the upcoming IPL 2022 auction
