IPL 2022: Shoaib Akhtar on MS Dhoni’s future – The former Pakistan pace bowler feels Dhoni might just play another IPL season for CSK before he decides to hang his boots.
“He is MS Dhoni. Can’t really predict what he does. He can do any odd stuff. He is known for doing that. He’s a great guy. We all love him and respect him. Personally, though, I reckon he will play another season before he calls it a day. Or again, he might be part of the management,” the ex-Pakistan cricketer told Sportskeeda.

After resuming captaincy against SRH in the ongoing IPL 2022, Danny Morrison asked Dhoni about his future with CSK. As usual, the CSK skipper did not reveal much. “You will definitely see me in the yellow jersey. Whether it is this yellow jersey, you will have to wait and watch.”
DC coach Shane Waston, who has spent quite a few years with Dhoni in CSK revealed that the legendary cricketer might take up a coaching role.
“I think when he said ‘different yellow (jersey)’, he is probably talking about a coaching shirt than a playing shirt. I’d be blown away if he does anything else but being involved with CSK after he finishes playing, whenever it is,” Watson said in The Grade Cricketer podcast.
