The Punjab Kings opener Shikhar Dhawan has been one of the most consistent performers over the years. Much like his former Indian team opener Rohit Sharma, Dhawan equaled Sharma’s record of scoring 300+ runs in 13 different IPL seasons.
When it comes to the batting prowess of Shikhar Dhawan he is second to none. With a record highest score of 618 runs in the 2020 season, Dhawan has consistently scored runs over the years. This was his 13th year where he has registered more than 300 runs in an IPL season.
It has been an exceptional achievement for Dhawan who scored above 300 runs in 13 out of 15 seasons where he participated. He missed out in 2009 and the following year in 2010. In 2009 he played just 5 games where he managed to score 40 runs and in 2010 he managed 190 runs from 10 games. Playing against Gujarat Titans, Shikhar Dhawan went on to display superb batting. His unbeaten innings of 62 runs from just 53 balls consisted of 8 fours and a single sixer. Dhawan went on to finish the game for his side as PBKS registered their fifth win of the season and kept their playoffs dreams alive.
