Stephen Fleming’s statement after SRH encounter – “There has been issues of player availability and we have been pretty much below par in all departments — batting, bowling and fielding,” Fleming said after his side suffered a eight-wicket defeat against Sunrisers.
Ruturaj contributed heavily to the team’s cause as he scored a well-made 73 off 48 deliveries which included five fours and five sixes as he thrived. Ruturaj looked in good touch as CSK were flying high with Ambati Raydu also scoring 46 runs of 31 deliveries.

Poor start to the season – Ruturaj started the IPL 2022 campaign on a poor note, dismissed for duck against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he was then dismissed for 1, 1, 16 and 17 as he contributed just 35 runs in five innings. Ruturaj’s lack of form was a big concern for the management as CSK won only one match from their opening five games.
CSK and Ruturaj look to turn fortunes – Both Ruturaj and CSK will now looks to turn fortunes they bid to climb the table in IPL. Currently residing ninth, a win will be a welcome addition for CSK while Ruturaj tries to get back in contention for the Orange Cap which he won last season. If this proves to be the starting point, CSK and Ruturaj are destined for change in fortunes.
