IPL 2022, MI vs DC Live: What exactly happened?
- In the 12th over with Kuldeep Yadav just dismissing Ishan Kishan, Delhi Capitals had a great chance to make a comeback.
- Dewald Brevis was going all guns blazing but under pressure after Ishan’s wicket, he top-edged a Kuldeep delivery in the same over.
- Rishabh took the lead for the catch and asked Kuldeep to stop only to drop a dolly.
- Brevis added another 12 runs as DC failed to make a comeback.
- However, what cost Delhi Capitals the match was the next BLUNDER.
- Tim David edged a Shardul Thakur delivery to Rishabh Pant on the first ball.
- Rishabh Pant being the wicketkeeper was in the best position to listen to the edge.
- But he did not take the review despite having two reviews left. TV replays showed that David indeed edged it.
- His decision not to review was booed by the Wankhede crowd and they shouted RCB! RCB!
- Tim David took full advantage of that and smashed the next 10 balls for 34 taking the match away from Delhi Capitals.

Had Rishabh taken the review despite the bowler asking for it, Delhi could have been in the playoffs instead of RCB. After the match, Rishabh Pant said he did not have enough backing to go for the review.
“I thought there was something (about Tim David review). Everyone standing in the circle wasn’t convinced and at the end I didn’t go up,” Rishabh Pant said.

Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting wasn’t happy with the tactics and field settings either. He was seen having an animated chat with Rishabh after the match.
“If you had watched that chat, you would have guessed that I was pretty disappointed with what we served tactically. I think the tactics the we bowled and the field that we set, I think we got a lot of those things wrong. That might have been the difference in the game,” Ponting said at the post-match press conference.
