What is the incident? The entire dispute emerged when in an interview last month, Raja claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to adapt an IPL-like auction model for the Pakistan Super League, and further went on to claim that many cricketers will skip IPL for PSL if such a thing happens.

His remarks caused an uproar as Raja was criticized for comparing PSL with IPL. However, he has now come up clean, confirming that he was misquoted and did not mean to demean the IPL. “I was misquoted. I know the where economy of India is and where is Pakistan’s. We have plans to improve the PSL. We will bring in the auction model but I was misquoted on the other part,” Raja said in an interview with Cricbuzz.

PCB to present plan of 4 Nation Super Series to ICC
While this debate now seems to be over, Raja and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have turned their attention to something more significant – the 4 Nation Super Series. PCB have proposed a four-team T20I series between India, Pakistan, Australia and England, to be played between September-October. The plan will be formally presented to the ICC in an event this week.
Justifying his proposal, Raja said “I don’t know how the ICC members will receive it but how long can we allow ourselves to be dictated by politics between countries. Star Sports had made a presentation at the last ICC board meeting where it said the India-Pakistan game at the Twenty20 World Cup broke all viewership records. Why don’t we have more of what the fans want?”
