RR make public announcement – On the reaching the landmark RR released a press copy which read, “We’re delighted to feature in 10th place among global sports teams, for total interactions on Twitter in April 2022. The list was released by Deportes & Finanzas yesterday.

“Twitter has been a very important and noticeable part of our digital approach, as with time we’ve created a unique tonality and personality there, thanks in no small measure to the #RRAdmin. The quality of our interactions with fans on Twitter is very close to our hearts and we try and enjoy each day on the platform.”

Three IPL teams feature in the top 10 list – The rise in social media conversation will come as huge milestone for the Indian cricket as they are competing with some of the biggest names in the sporting world. CSK are ranked eighth while RCB come at ninth in the standings with rest of the names coming from the world of football. RR’s arrival in the top 10 has added another feather in the cap for IPL.

Who else is part of the Top 10? – At the top of the standings are Champions League finalists Real Madrid while their arch-rivals Barcelona sit second, despite a poor season compared to their recent standards. Liverpool are at three and are on their way to a historic quadruple, while Turkish football giants Fenerbahce are at fourth. Brazilian outfit Flamengo alongside Chelsea and Manchester United complete the top 10 with the IPL trio.

RR’s social media stunt- Earlier at the start of the IPL, there was a social media stunt performed RR as they intended to fire their team social media team. The incident was involving Sanju Samson who got annoyed by a video shoot and was later seen to be criticised by the fans as he put on a post that led to the sacking of the social media team. However, later it was revealed that all was part of the social media stunt, just to engage the fans.
