Raj Bawa, who was bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022 auction for a whopping sum of INR 2 crores, is a huge fan of Yuvraj Singh and considers the former Indian all-rounder his idol. Inspired by Yuvraj’s jersey number 12, the youngster has opted to wear the same number in the upcoming edition of the competition.

Notably, Raj’s father Sukhwinder is a cricket coach and used to train Yuvraj. Having seen his role model up close and personal, the 19-year-old tried modelling his style of play on the former skipper of Punjab Singh.
“My father trained Yuvraj Singh. I used to watch him when I was a kid. I used to imitate Yuvraj Singh while batting. I watched his batting videos. He’s my role model,” Raj previously had told PTI. Thankfully for him, number 12 was available in the PBKS camp as the player who previously wore it, Riley Meredith, is now a part of the Mumbai Indians roster.

Mayank Agarwal sticks with jersey number 16 – Mayank Agarwal will be seen in a brand new role this season as he has been appointed as the captain of Punjab Kings, but there will not be any change in his jersey number.
Like the previous years, he will continue wearing number 16, whereas former captain KL Rahul’s number 1 has not been picked up by any player. Opening batter Shikhar Dhawan, who will be playing his first season for PBKS, will wear number 42.
