When MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene was asked about his first memory of ‘Boom Boom’, the Sri Lankan head coach travelled back to the time when he had to face the speedster. “The earliest memory for me was playing against him. We were more focused about Lasith (Malinga). But we get Bumrah coming in with that unusual action, and all of a sudden you get this yorker coming,” Jayawardene recollected.

Bumrah’s better half and TV presenter Sanjana Ganesan was also asked about her first memories of the pacer. “Every time I think of you and the IPL, I can only think back to the visual of you spiritedly celebrating your first ever wicket,” she told.
