Speaking recently on the RCB Podcast, he opened up about the first thing he did after getting selected in the Indian Premier League.“First thing I bought was iPhone 7 Plus, then bought a second-hand car, Corolla. Car is important because IPL players need to have a car. For how long could I have pushed a Platina, but I did not know how to drive. Then I asked my uncle’s son to drive me since he knew how to drive,” he said.

Mohammed Siraj IPL Journey: The 27-year old, who is now an India regular, like many of his contemporaries, rose to prominence only after playing the IPL.
Coming from a humble background, he started his journey with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 with a salary of 2.60 crores. He was then bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2018 for 2.2 crores. Ahead of this year’s mega auction he has been retained by RCB for 7 crores.

He also revealed that his car did not have air conditioning so he had put the windows down and the public would start waving. “Once we went to a function and realized that Corolla doesn’t even have air conditioning, so we had to put the glasses of the window down. And the public started waving Siraj, Siraj !. We could not even raise the glasses as it was so hot. Then next year, I bought a Mercedes”, he added.
Siraj has so far featured in 50 IPL matches, taking 50 wickets. He will be a crucial cog for IPL 2022. Along with Siraj, RCB has also retained ex-captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.
