Meesho IPL Teams Sponsor: In this agreement, Meesho will be the lead trouser branding partner of the four IPL franchises.

Other than sponsoring 4 IPL Teams, Meesho has also signed up as on-air broadcast partner on the Star Sports network as advertiser during the LIVE Coverage of IPL 2022.

Meesho wad founded by Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal in 2015 is headquartered in Bengaluru. Teaming up with IPL teams will largely help the company in brand exposure throughout the tournament.

“Meesho’s collaborative step with the four franchises comes as a natural choice. Forging ecosystem partnerships will help create the right visibility and traction for Meesho as part of the company’s growth strategy. The increasing popularity of one of the world’s most followed T20 leagues over the last few years will add a fillip to Meesho’s objective of targeting a diverse portfolio of customers.” the company said.

Last year in September Meesho raised $570 million in a new round of funding. Following the funding, the company’s valuation doubled to $4.9 billion in less than six months.

ACKO Insurance IPL Sponsor – IPL MULTI-TEAM Sponsorship Strategy: ACKO will have team sponsorship tie-ups with 5 times in this year of IPL 2022.

ACKO was appointed as the official insurance partner of both GT & KKR.

For many brands, associating with one team is not enough past few IPL seasons.

There has been a significant rise in the number of brands that have opted for multi-team brand sponsorship deals.

boAt in IPL 2020-21 was the audio partner of as many as six IPL teams — Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
 

Another brand, Colgate, has become the smile partner of six IPL teams in IPL 2021. Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

BKT Tyre: The Tyre manufacturing company Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT) have also associated with as many 8 IPL teams.

Brands like Jio, Dream11, and Kingfisher have been pioneers of multi-team sponsorship strategy.

In fact, Kingfisher was the first brand to associate with all the teams way back in IPL 2009-2010.

“Since team tie-ups are comparatively inexpensive, this strategy ensures brand visibility at a low level of investment. Dream 11, Jio and Kingfisher have done this before to multiply viewership,” said Sandeep Goyal, chief mentor at Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB).

IPL 2022 New Format Explained: How the completely new format is creating huge buzz for the league?

The Indian Premier League’s 15th edition will be played in a ‘very unique, interesting & completely NEW Format’.

All 10 IPL Teams have been divided into two groups.

  • Group A: MI, KKR, RR, DC, LSG
  • Group B: CSK, SRH, RCB, PBKS, GT

Each team will play twice with the teams in their group & once with teams in the other group.

Not only this but they will also play two matches with team in the same row in the second group.

With the rest of the teams in the second group they will play only once during the season.

For Example: In Group A, MI will play 2 matches each against KKR, RR, DC, LSG. MI will also play 2 matches against CSK and 1 match each against other teams in Group B.

Similarly, in Group B, RCB will play 2 matches against CSK, SRH, PBKS and GT. RCB will also play 2 matches against RR and 1 match each against other teams in Group A.
