Captaincy curse for Mayank – Mayank was named captain of the PBKS franchise before the start of the IPL 2022 season with high expectations, but so far the load has proved to be a curse. Mayank has failed to make an impression in the tournament as he has scored 161 runs in eight innings. Mayank averages little over 20 in the IPL 2022 and fell prey to Dushmantha Chameera on the fourth ball of fifth over.

Mayank’s form a big concern for PBKSWhile Mayank’s partner in crime Shikhar Dhawan has been enjoying the conditions, Mayank had found form little bit hard to come by. Apart for the 52-run knock against Mumbai Indians (MI) he has hardly made in an impression. Mayank got starts against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as he scored 24 and 32 runs respectively. Even today he looked in great touch scoring two fours and two sixes, but couldn’t capitalise.

Joins Faf and Ravindra Jadeja in flopped captains – Mayank isn’t the only captain who is enduring tough time at the moment as his fellow Indian teammates Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Faf du Plessis are also going through a rough patch. Rohit has failed miserably as his MI side has lost all eight matches while his personal form isn’t great as well. In eight matches so far Rohit has scored 153 runs and has an average of 19.13.

Jadeja also part of the debate – The situation doesn’t make any good reading for Ravindra Jadeja either, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has scored 112 runs and scalped five wickets in the tournament. The standards set by Jadeja in the recent years have seen his performance dropped down to average as he struggles to find feet in his first ever season as the captain of the CSK franchise.

Faf going through tough period – The former South Africa captain was named as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain before the start of the season, but despite starting well he has found runs hard to come by. The South African has scored 278 runs in the IPL 2022 season and apart from his 96-run knock against CSK he has failed to make any significant contribution in last eight matches.
