IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants DROP prized retention Ravi Bishnoi for Gujarat Giants clash after unimpressive show
Ravi Bishnoi has had a fairly good season in IPL 2022 however, one of his cons has been his economy. Bishnoi has played 11 games for LSG this season and being dropped in of the biggest games of the group stages certainly came as a surprise for many.
Bishnoi has scalped 9 wickets in 11 games and has an average of 38.44. This by his standards can be deemed to be unimpressive. Off late, Bishnoi’s economy has suffered a lot as he has been hammed consistently by the opponent batters.
Bishnoi is the third-highest wicket-taker for his side. He is joint third along with the likes of other three bowlers, Moshin Khan, Dushmant Chameera, and Krunal Pandya. But it has been the economy that has led to Bishnoi getting the axe for today’s game.

Over the span of 11 games and off late Bishnoi has failed to protect runs for his side and thus KL Rahul opted to keep out a bowler who will likely get hit for big runs. Despite being on top of the points table, this is one risk that KL Rahul cannot risk.
In IPL 2022 Bishnoi has conceded 346 runs in 42 overs and has an economy of 8.23. In the last game against KKR, Bishnoi bagged a wicket but gave away 30 runs in 3 overs. Against DC he gave away 28 runs but managed to pick a wicket. Against PBKS he gave away 41 runs and scalped a wicket.
Under these circumstances, KL Rahul couldn’t have taken a risk to play Bishnoi who might have managed to pick a wicket but end up leaking runs!
