Jofra Archer Mumbai Indians – Why MI picked Archer? According to Ambani, it was Mahela Jayawardene’s idea to pick Archer from the auction.
“Jofra is a player Mahela (Jayawardene, the head coach) gave his first professional debut to. It was his idea we went by. So we’re happy to have gotten them together. Although it is going to be next year, we’re very happy to have a lethal combination”
“We had discussed his name in the pre-auction meetings, but firmed up on our plans last night after being priced out on all the other fast bowlers,” Ambani told reporters.
“We are so happy to get Jof and Boom as a lethal pair!” 🗣️

Ambani said that once he becomes fit, Archer would form a lethal fast bowling partnership with Bumrah. “After yesterday, what the fast bowlers went at, one option became very cear to us that Jofra was the only marquee fast bowler left in the list. So, we had discussed his name previously also and of course he (Archer) is not available this year but when he is fit and available, I believe that with Bumrah he will make a formidable partnership,” Ambani said.
But the cricket experts all over cannot not digest MI’s BOLD Move
Former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted: “You know you are good when you go for a Million dollars & you are injured !!! #Jofra #IPLAuction2022.”

#MumbaiIndians will believe that Archer would have cost them much more next year. So they will play with 7 overseas players this year and a purse of 82 cr. But if he retains fitness, he could be an @mipaltan player for many years
