Jasprit Bumrah kept one of his special spells of the tournament for the last game of MI of IPL 2022. In the previous game against DC at Brabourne, Bumrah was hit for 43 runs without a wicket. However, at Wankhede, Bumrah took his revenge by taking 3 wickets and destroying DC’s top order.
DC stumbled to 64/4 at a point before Rishabh Pant and Caribbean batter Rovman Powell took charge of the Capital’s innings. Powell went on a rampage as he smacked 43 off 34 with 4 huge sixes. Bumrah came to MI’s rescue, as a special delivery from the pacer stunned Powell.

A typical Bumrah full-length delivery was enough to pack Powell. An inch-perfect straight yorker forced Powell to chop it to the off-side. However, the sheer pace and placement of the delivery made the ball go under the under and rattle the stumps.
Rovman Powell played that exact shot (bending his back knee & whipping the yorker length away for 6) extremely well vs England’s death bowlers earlier this year.
Today is a very different case, he couldn’t execute that shot. He was up against Bumrah’s pin point accurate Yorker.
