Cricket Australian on Monday informed their players that all contracted players with IPL deals – included those not part of Pakistan series – will not be available to take up their contracts until April 6. While players like Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell and David Warner are already in India having completed their quarantine, this new clause by Cricket Australia made them unavailable for selection until April 6.

This stand by CA has irked IPL franchises & they are planning to raise the issue with BCCI –“This is completely uncalled for. We could have lived with it if these cricketers were part of the Australian squad. But when they are not, what is the point of not allowing them to play in IPL” said representative of one of the most affected franchise.

The players returning from Australia will further miss the tournament as they have to undergo quarantine and they are expected to be available only by 10th or 11th April, based on their arrival.

For RCB, while it is yet to be seen when Behrendorff would arrive in India, they also received a blow as pacer Josh Hazlewood is set to go back to Australia to spend time with his family before returning back to India.

While the Faf du Plessis led side are currently playing with David Willey, the arrival of Jason Behrendorff would give them an additional optional in their pace department. RCB have currently won two games out of the three that they have played. They defeated Rajasthan Royals by four wickets on Tuesday, Their next game will be against Mumbai indians on 9th April, Saturday at Pune.
