The tweet from Navjot Sidhu has triggered speculations that Harbhajan Singh might join the Congress party ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections. The Punjab Assembly election is only a few months away now and Navjot Singh Sidhu is the Chairman of the Congress’ election panel for Punjab.
Earlier, speculations were rife that Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh might join BJP for the upcoming 2022 Assembly election in Congress-ruled Punjab. However, the veteran off-spinner turned down the rumours to be “Fake News” by replying to a Tweet by a media company.

Recently, PTI reported that Harbhajan Singh is expected to announce his retirement from competitive cricket soon. Harbhajan Singh, who played three games for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 is likely to be seen in a new role in the upcoming IPL edition. He might take up the role of a consultant or mentor with one of the ten IPL franchises.
