Inspiration from BBL – Earlier in the 2021-22 season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the strict implementation of the rules came into force when there was an outbreak in the team camps. Due to the rising cases and outbreak of Covid-19, masks were made compulsory among the team camps. The IPL governing body has finally learned its lesson.
Outbreak in Delhi camp – Delhi Capitals (DC) were the first team which experienced the first positive cases of Covid-19 this season as Tim Seifert was a victim. The coach Patrick Farhart was the first person to test positive for Covid-19, while Mitchell Marsh was also a victim of Covid-19. The latest case of Tim Seifert has added spanner to the work for DC while they prepare for the rest of the season.

Match could have been rescheduled – The encounter between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings could have been rescheduled had the number of cases increased. All the victims of the Covid-19 have been put in self-isolation while the venue was shifted in the last minute in order to avoid any more cases of Covid-19.
