While Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be desperate to get his services, all other franchises will be on a hunt to get him on their side. Newly-added franchises Ahmedabad & Lucknow are also expected to target the fast bowler who can deliver at powerplay and the death overs.

“I’m definitely back for the Sri Lanka T20s,” Hazlewood said ahead of the series starting in Sydney on February 11, as quoted by cricket.com.au

“I’ve got a couple of weeks up my sleeve to get right and should be fine,” he added.

However, he stressed that he cannot all the games for Australia putting a question mark over his IPL participation.

“We’re going to have to prioritise – whether it’s red-ball over white-ball or vice versa or depending on how your body’s travelling. As far as time away from home and bubble fatigue, there’s going to have to be some time put aside to hopefully get home for a week or two in and around those series,” he stated further.

  • Josh Hazlewood has played 12 matches and scalped 12 wickets at an economy of 7.93 in IPL.
  • The 31-year-old has scalped 78 wickets in 64 matches at an economy rate of 7.48
  • He was instrumental for Australia in T20 World Cup as Kangaroos won their maiden T20WC trophy.
  • Hazlewood comes with an experience of 300 international wickets under his belt with ability to trouble any batsmen.
  • He was last bought for Rs 2 crore in IPL but he is expected to break the bank at IPL 2022 with salary likely to reach Rs 15 crore or even more.
