IPL 2022: All-Rounder Hardik Pandya, who will captain one of the two new franchishes, Gujarat Titans, has reached Ahmedabad ahead of the team’s inauguration ceremony which is scheduled to be held on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Narendra Modi Stadium, which is the world’s largest cricket stadium is the home ground of IPL’s new entrant Gujarat Titans and in the inauguration event, the team’s jersey will be launched at the event in front of fans.
The Ahmedabad based franchise first signed up Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan in January 2022, followed by the selection of a host of international and domestic stars at the auction. The team has a mixture of youth and experience and is all set to make its debut in the IPL with Hardik Pandya at the helm.
Despite his fitness issues, Pandya was picked up in the pre-auction by the Titans for a whopping 15 crores and was handed the captaincy. For Pandya, this will be an important season as apart from captaining the side, he should also prove his fitness to stake his claim back to the Indian team. Gujarat Titans will kickstart their IPL journey on 28th March at the Wankede Stadium in Mumbai against another new entrant Lucknow Super Giants.
