IPL 2022 is going to be a 10 team affair after the addition of two new teams, i.e Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore while the main tournament is tentatively scheduled to commence from 27th March.

Local lad and star Indian all-rounder, Hardik Pandya is set to captain the Gujarat Titans squad, after Pandya was released from the Mumbai Indians team ahead of IPL 2022 Auction. The Ahmedabad side sure did take their time to reveal their name as they kept the fans waiting and excited for the name reveal. On the other hand, Lucknow revealed their name on 24th January.
Going into the mega auction, Gujarat Titans song with Lucknow Super Giants selected 3 players from the draft to maintain parity to the other 8 teams that had the option to retain players into their squad. The Gujarat Titans wasted little time in spending big money on their 3 selected players.

Gujarat Titans retained Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubhman Gill ahead of IPL 2022 AuctionHardik Pandya will be leading the Gujarat Titans into the competition for the first time after being the first player to be picked in the draft for a salary cap of 15 Cr. The next pick for the side was star overseas spinner, Rashid Khan who was also bought for a price of 15 Cr. The last addition to the Gujarat outfits is the young fiery opener, Shubhman Gill who was acquired for a price of 8 Cr.
Going into the mega auction, Gujarat Titans are left with a remaining purse of 52 Cr, with which the team will have to build their entire squad.
