“I have a great respect for Rashid Khan but I believe we have the right combination. Rashid Khan was someone who opposition teams decided to defend against, he was not much of a wicket-taker,” Lara told host broadcaster Star Sports.
“I think we have a lot in the reserves (Washington Sundar, Shreyas Gopal, Jagadeesha Suchith) to show the IPL and I am not too worried. All respect to Rashid Khan, if he was a member of this team, I think we might have been 7 out of 7, I don’t know,” he added.

- Notably, Rashid Khan is the most economical bowler of IPL with at least 50 matches. He was sold to GT for Rs 15 crore after parting ways with SRH.
- Rashid Khan is the ONLY fourth overseas player with 100 IPL wickets – Dwayne Bravo (179), Lasith Malinga (170) and Sunil Narine (149).
- The leg-spinner is also the joint-third fastest with Ashish Nehra to reach 100 IPL wickets (83 matches).
