The arrangements for the tournament were discussed during the meeting conducted at the Sahyadri Guest House in Malabar Hill.

The government has already assured a special green channel for ambulances and VIP moments to ensure the teams aren’t stuck in traffic jams in Mumbai to reach the venues ahead of matches.

Each team will be based in a separate hotel to ensure that the bio-secure environment is created and maintained at each of the hotels with “dedicated areas” for the teams.

  • Maharashtra will stage all the 70 matches of the tournament’s league stage.
  • Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while Brabourne Stadium will host 15 matches.
  • Around 50 per cent crowd capacity is likely to be allowed during the league.

“I hope, by the way, COVID-19 cases are decreasing day by day, we have a free (atmosphere). We hope that when IPL matches take place, at that time the atmosphere will be such that all people will be permitted to visit the stadiums. It will be a boost to players and it will be a good opportunity where people can come together. People have been sitting in homes for one-and-half to two years, we can hope (for that),” Maharashtra sports minister Sunil Kedar had told reporters recently.
