IPL 2022: Rising stars from WI vs ENG series – With the grand IPL 2022 Mega Auction just around the corner, all eyes are currently on the ongoing England tour of West Indies T20Is as quite a few upcoming stars can showcase their talent by performing well in the 5 match series and thus earn big bucks in the IPL 2022 auction. The auction will take place on 12th and 13th February while the main tournament will start at the end of March. West Indies currently leads the 5 match T20 series against England 1-0 after registering a comprehensive victory in the opening. With the game in play, eyes will be some players who would take this opportunity to perform well so that they can be picked for big bucks in the upcoming auction.

Saqib Mahmood: The 24-year-old English cricketer is an upcoming rising talent. He has already played 7 ODI games and 10 T20I matches. The young bowler has picked 10 scalped 14 wickets in 7 innings in ODIs and 7 wickets in T20s. All eyes will be on this young player to see how he performs ahead of the auction. 

Rovman Powell: The 28-year-old middle orders batsman is has established himself well in the T20s and the ODIs. He has scored 786 runs in 34 innings in ODIs and 377 runs in 25 innings of T20Is. The occasional bowler has also scalped 3 and 4 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively. This ongoing series is very important for the batter to perform and earn a team in IPL 2022.

Akeal Hossain: The 28-year-old West Indian spinner is yet to establish himself in the limited formats of the game. He has picked 20 wickets in 12 ODI matches and 8 wickets in 11 innings in the T20Is. Hossain would be eager to impress the IPL teams to earn him a spot in the tournament.

Odean Smith: Odean Smith is a rising talented all-rounder from the West Indies. Versatile in both batting and bowling, he has scored 84 runs in 3 ODIs and 42 runs in 3 T20I innings. In bowling he has picked 3 wickets in 3 ODI matches and 6 wickets in 6 T20I matches, thereby making him adept as an all-rounder. This series is a perfect opportunity for the 25-year-old to perform and capture the eyes of the IPL teams. 

Philip Salt: The 25-year-old English cricketer is a hard-hitting batter. He has around 2000 runs in the First Class format of the game. In the 3 ODI matches that he has played, he has scored 104 runs with a good average of 34.66. This ongoing series will be vital for Salt to perform and earn himself a team in IPL 2022.
