IPL 2022– Player of the Tournament contenders –The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season is in the final stage as teams are gearing for the final push for playoffs while some players are prepared to make individual swoop. While Jos Buttler has been scoring runs for fun, Yuzvendra Chahal and Wandindu Hasaranga have been scalping wickets in tandem.   • Jos Buttler has been one of the best players in the ongoing IPL 2022 season as he has made claim for the Orange Cap.
  • With 627 runs and a potential playoff berth in hand, Buttler will only add to his tally.
  • With three hundreds and three fifties to his name Buttler has been Rajasthan Royals’ most priced asset.
  • The Englishmen could become the fourth player from RR to swoop the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award if he succeeds in doing so.

  • The skipper of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), KL Rahul has led from the front with a fantastic batting record.
  • He is second in the Orange Cap list for most runs in IPL 2022 with 469 runs.
  • Interestingly alongside his two hundreds and two fifties Rahul has also secured three ducks in the IPL 2022 season.
  • However, a proven batting record and a stellar captaincy stint by guiding LSG to the playoffs and may be to the title could see Rahul clinch the glory of ‘Player of the Tournament’ for IPL 2022.

  • There is a good chance that KKR and Andre Russell might not feature beyond the league season, but Russell has made everyone from KKR proud with his extraordinary perfromaces.
  • While contributing with the bat Russell has scored 330 runs while also playing some match-winning knocks.
  • Russell dosent stop there, he is also in the race for Purple Cap with 17 wickets to his name.
  • An all-round performance which hasn’t gone unnoticed could see him lift the award for the third time in the IPL history, most by any player.

Yuzvendra Chahal (Rajasthan Royals) –

  • A second RR player to feature on the list, Chahal has so far been a revolution for his team as he continues to impress and also hold the Purple Cap.
  • The former RCB player has silenced his critics with a fabulous IPL 2022 where he has scalped 24 wickets.
  • Chahal who was dropped for the T20 World Cup in UAE last year, has made no secret of his desire to be the best player in the tournament.
  • As things stand he could be adding to his tally of 24 wickets in the IPL 2022 with RR destined for a place in the top four and further matches in the form of Playoffs.

Wanindu Hasaranga (Royal Challengers Bangalore) –

  • After Yuzvendra Chahal was released by RCB, Wanindu Hasaranga was the obvious choice and he had big shoes to fill in the IPL.
  • Hasarnga just hasn’t managed that but he has so far nailed his faith with 23 wickets, and even holding the Purple Cap at one stage before Chahal reclaimed it.
  • Hasaranga’s importance can also be highlighted by his numbers which make an impressive reading.
  • Currently he has the best economy in the Top 10 rankers of the Purple Cap with 7.48 runs per over in the IPL 2022.
