Notably, the friendly battle between these two started a few days back, when young pacer from Kashmir, Umran Malik bamboozled experienced West Indian wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran with his sheer pace. Malik’s first ball to Pooran was a sharp bouncer which the Caribbean star somehow avoided, but in the second ball, which happened to be another lethal bouncer, Malik got the wicket of Pooran.

However, the mega-money signing has now levelled the score with the retained emerging star. In a video uploaded by the franchise on Twitter, Pooran is seen placing a bet with Umran – if the bowler manages to bowl a yorker in the next delivery, he will buy him dinner. The 22-year-old accepted the bet and ended up losing it, as he bowled a half-tracker. As a forfeit, he has promised to buy Pooran his dinner, in what happens to be an extension of a developing bond between two talented cricketers.
