The left-handed batter has spent quality time playing County Cricket and has brief knowledge about the competition. The Aussie has played for five-county sides- Lancashire, Derbyshire, Hampshire, Yorkshire and Durham with an average of 52.84 in first-class cricket comprising 58 centuries.

“Katich is regarded as a tough and tenacious coach, in keeping with his style during his playing career,” wrote The Telegraph.
“Should England decide to split the head coaching role, and appoint separate red and white-ball coaches, Katich could be a contender for either job, but appears much likelier to be the red-ball coach,” it added.
- Katich has represented Australia in 56 Tests and amassed 4188 runs at an average of 45.03 during his illustrious career.
- He could be the proper fit for England whose majority of batters except Joe Root don’t know how to spend quality time at the crease.
- He is known for his ability to spend time and keep the scorecard ticking. His calm demeanour saw him making a thrice comeback to Australia national team.
