IPL 2022 Eliminator: Three dream match ups to watch out for as Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore battle for top honors
LSG vs RCB: The winner between LSG and RCB will then face RR in Qualifier 2. With such riveting battle on cards, here are some of the three dream match ups to keep an eye on.
1. Quinton de Kock vs Josh Hazlewood
Quinton de Kock scored a rampaging hundred against KKR and has found form at an opportune time for LSG. The southpaw can take any opposition apart with his free stroking hits. He can tee off from word go and also drop anchor. If the LSG opener gives the team a good start against RCB then more often than not the team wins.
De Kock has so far scored 502 runs for LSG and he will look to add more to the tally. The southpaw though has to be watchful against RCB’s Hazlewood. The pacer is the team’s go-to-bowler in the power play and is their specialist death ball bowler. Hazlewood has also got the better of the LSG opener three times in six innings. This match-up will be riveting to watch.

- Virat Kohli vs Mohsin Khan
RCB batter Virat Kohli got back to form against GT in their do-or-die clash. The right-hand batter scored 73 runs and looked in fluent touch. Kohli would be hungry to score some more runs and stamp his authority against LSG. He has scored 309 runs in 14 games with two fifties. The former RCB captain though has to be careful against LSG’s Mohsin Khan.
The left-arm pacer has been a revelation for the team with his smart variations. He has taken 13 wickets in 8 innings at a superb economy rate of 5.2. Kohli will have to use all his experience to tackle the 23-year-old fast bowler.
- Dinesh Karthik vs Avesh Khan
RCB wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has looked a part as a finisher. He has scored 287 runs at a mind-boggling strike rate of 191.33. He has the best strike rate for a batter who has scored runs above 200. Whenever Karthik has finished matches, RCB has won. The veteran has had a positive impact on the team. Karthik would try to inflict a similar assault against LSG’s Avesh Khan.
The task won’t be easy as Avesh has taken 5 wickets in the death overs. He has also dismissed Karthik one time in nine balls. The match-up could prove to be a match-defining one.
