Buttler says ‘NO’ – While speaking to ESPNCRICINFO, Butler was asked regarding whether he would allow Ashwin to ‘Mankad’ batters. On which he replied, ‘No’, stating Ashwin won’t listen to him. Jos Buttler has been on the receiving end of the dismissal and thinks the form of wicket would be an unfair thing for any batter. Specially, when his current teammate Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed him in similar fashion in 2019 edition of IPL.
What happened in 2019? – Buttler was Mankaded by Ashwin when the Royals opener was batting on 69 with his team cruising in the 185-run chase against Kings XI Punjab at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur back in 2019. Opinions were divided immediately after Ashwin’s Mankading act. Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Kevin Pietersen and Dale Steyn slammed Ashwin while Shane Warne said it was embarrassing and disgusting. However, the likes of Sanjay Manjrekar, Harsha Bhogle and Murali Karthik felt there was nothing wrong with what Ashwin did.

Ashwin and Buttler share same dressing room – Both Ashwin and Buttler have been sharing dressing room in the RR camp and have had good IPL 2022. Butler has been challenging for the Orange cap while Ashwin has been doing well with the ball. Rajasthan has also received huge rewards from their performances as they are third in the IPL table.
