The medium pacer has picked 32 wickets in the powerplay since 2019, which is the most by any bowler in the IPL. He was released by the franchise ahead of the auction, but was bought back again for a whopping 14 crore, making him CSK’s costliest buy in the auction.
However he suffered a tear in his right quadriceps just a week after the auction. He is currently in Bengaluru, undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).Without him, CSK needs to look at other options until he returns back into the side.
The team led by MS Dhoni will kickstart the season against Kolkata Knight Riders on 26th March, Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
