Brought for big price – Deepak Chahar was brought in for an astonishing price of Rs.14 crore and was expected to be the part of the plans as CSK tried to defend their crown. However a back injury during the Sri Lanka series saw him travel to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation and was expected to be back for the later stage of the IPL.

CSK pay big price – Deepak Chahar’s miss has had a negative impact on the team as they lost four in a row at the start of the IPL season. Their Rs.14 crore investment hasn’t paid off while missing players like Faf du Plessis, Shardul Thakur and Josh Hazlewood. Their tough start to the season has been a hard pill to swallow for CSK fans.
Deepak eyes T20 World Cup – Deepak Chahar will certainly target a place in the Indian team in the T20 World Cup in October. An important asset with both bat and ball, Deepak’s addition to the team adds a new dimension to the team. Team India will also be optimistic about his availability while Deepak himself buys for a spot. With competition for places as well, it remains to be seen how the situation develops and will he make the team.
