Katich left the SRH coaching role citing bio-bubble fatigue, but a report by Watson revealed Katich resigned due to differences with the team management during the mega auction.
“Alarm bells started when Simon Katich left just after the auction. That’s normally not a great sight because Katich is one of the most generally good people. It’s really injustice if people really go against what they say.
“So obviously something has gone down there that Katich stepped away immediately and won’t be a part of it. That’s a warning sign to start with,” Watson said while speaking YouTube channel The Grade Cricketer.

IPL 2022: SRH off to a disastrous start
- SRH got off to the worst possible start in the IPL 2022 season. They went down by 61 runs against RR.
- The batting and bowling failed to get going. The batters lacked the intent to chase a tall score of over 200.
- Watson feels there is a lot of off-field things going and that is not a great sign
- He also feels the make-up of the squad is not strong either
SRH would be hoping to get back to winning ways when they take on LSG in their second match on April 04.
