Chennai Super Kings have had a horrendous start to their IPL 2022 campaign, as they have lost both of their first two outings. The last defeat against Lucknow Super Giants made fans and pundits raise questions on their bowling department, as Ravindra Jadeja’s team failed to defend a humongous total of 210 runs.

However, to be fair to the defending champions, they had to field a weak bowling contingent as three key players in New Zealand pacer Adam Milne, Indian seamer Deepak Chahar and English death-over specialist Chris Jordan were all out with injuries.
“Adam Milne has had some treatment, he’s hopefully not too far away. Chris Jordan, also, hopefully not too far away, and of course Deepak Chahar. So we are a bit of resource down with our fast bowling, but at some stage, all teams will find they are a little bit skinny in some areas,” Fleming said.
Besides that, Deepak Chahar himself has shared an update on Instagram, where he is seen bowling in the nets. “Update on Demand,” wrote the seamer.

While CSK were unlucky to have three of their prime pacers unavailable all at once, the decision to give Shivam Dube the ball in the 19th over was met with a lot of criticism, as he conceded 25 runs and effectively conceded the game to LSG.

Speaking on that decision, Fleming elaborated “Whether that was another spinner, the decision was made in the middle to use Dube, and they counted it well. So we always knew that one over was going to be pivotal and I think they did as well, but they played it very well.”
