IPL 2022 – Sanju Samson Rajasthan Royals: Rajasthan Royals have swiftly fired their social media team on Friday following captain Sanju Samson’s complaint. The Royals skipper had raised objection to one of the posts on social media and while it was deleted later, the RR management swiftly dismissed their team. On Friday, Rajasthan Royals took to social media and shared a clip of Sanju Samson, with the RR captain’s appearance morphed featuring a turban and jewellery. Samson, however, took offence for the same and tweeted his displeasure for the same. The tweet was soon deleted by the account, but the matter only got worse as Samson registered an official complaint with the team management.
“It’s ok for friends to do all this but teams should be professional.” Samson wrote and unfollowed the account.

Samson’s complaint was taken into account and RR CEO Jake Lush McCrum held talks with the social media agency, before firing them. RR also released a statement, announcing that they will change direction in their approach to digital media, following the controversy. The release further stated that all was well within the squad, and the appointment of a new social media team will happen in due course.
