As per an ESPNCricinfo report, Deepak Chahar has suffered a quadricep tear and will take several weeks to heal. The IPL 2022 will start on March 26 in Mumbai and will end on May 29.

Deepak Chahar suffered the injury in India’s third T20 against West Indies during a fiery spell and was ruled out of the Sri Lanka series. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Chennai Super Kings are currently waiting for an update on Deepak Chahar before deciding on a replacement. Chahar was in a fantastic form with the bat and the ball. Against South Africa, he scored 54 and 38 after playing a match-winning knock against Sri Lanka in July.
He was one of the most contested players with Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and CSK all bidding for him, shooting his price tag to Rs 14 Cr.
