The Singaporean batter had a brilliant season in BBL 2021. He played a total of 14 games where he scored 218 runs, bagged 2 wickets, and had 7 catches for the Perth Scorchers. Tim David is currently playing in the Pakistan Super League for the mighty Multan Sultans and has scored 221 runs in 7 innings with a high average of 55.25.
Though the high-priced deal might have raised a few eyes, the investment in youth by the Mumbai Indians clearly proves that the Mumbai Indians are building a team for the future. 25-year-old will be eager to showcase his talent in the upcoming IPL 2022 season.

Earlier in Day 1, A bidding war for Faf du Plessis took place between Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Delhi Capitals. For Quinton de Kock Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians engaged in the bidding war.
India opening batter Shikhar Dhawan was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5 crore. While Kagiso Rabada was sold to Punjab Kings for 9.25 crore. India batter Shreyas Iyer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 12.25 crore and Mohammed Shami went to Gujarat Titans.
A strong bidding war took place for Ishan Kishan between Mumbai Indians Gujarat Lions and the steady-paced auction took little time to cross the 10 Crore mark. Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the bidding late with a bid of 13 Cr and took the auction by quite a surprise. An unyielding Mumbai Indians, who made their mind to pick the player ultimately got him for a staggering price of 15.25 Crores.
