It was quite a surprise when Faf was not bought by CSK today after scoring 633 runs in just 16 innings with a wonderful average of 45.21. The 37-year-old veteran batter had his best season of the IPL last year and will be a part of a deadly batting lineup in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.
It should also be noted that du Plessis has always played under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and has flourished under captain cool. However, things might be different for him in RCB. With Virat Kolhi vacating the skipper’s spot. Faf du Plessis will not only open the innings for the Bangalore outfits but might also take the skipper’s place.
Things look quite gloomy for CSK who opted not to buy their previous season’s best player and now on the very same day in a match against Khulna Tigers for the Comilla Victorians in BPPL 2022.
