Less dependency on Marquee players: The first 10 players who went under the hammers in Set 1 yesterday were all marquee players. While the entire cricketing world expected these 10 players to go for sky-soaring prices, fans were baffled when teams approached these players cautiously. Faf du Plessis joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for 7 Crores while veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin joined Rajasthan Royals for 5 Crores. The highest among the marquees was Kagiso Rabada who joined the Punjab Kings for a price of 9.25 Crores.
