Apart from Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvednra Chahal, the 10 teams are likely to be involved in bidding war for Indian players like senior opener Shikhar Dhawan, the former CSK pace duo of Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar, the top two wicket takers of the last edition Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan, spinner Rahul Chahar and all-rounder Washington Sundar.

The above bunch of Indian players is expected to attract anywhere between Rs 7 to 15 crores (between USD 1 to 2 million) Among foreign players, Warner, South African Kagiso Rabada are likely to fetch big bucks along with England’s Mark Wood, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh, New Zealand’s Trent Boult and Pat Cummins. Veterans Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo could still keep their franchise Chennai Super Kings interested.

Shreyas Iyer: Left Delhi Capitals after demoted from captaincy, Shreyas Iyer is now seeking a bumper deal on the auction front. He is a potential captain target and RCB, KKR and PBKS could jump for him. Mumbai Indians will be the other franchise who will like to have a local talent back in Mumbai.
Yuzvendra Chahal: It was strange to have RCB prefer to release one of the best T20 spinners. But for Chahal, it could be a good deal. He will be one of the top draws with multiple franchises jumping for him.
Ishan Kishan: A young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is an exciting prospect. MI were forced to release him but it could be a blessing in disguise as he could fetch big bucks in the auction.

David Warner: Another captain material who fell out with SRH and will be looking to join a new franchise, potentially as the captain. After claiming the T20 World Cup man of the tournament award, he will be in big demand with multiple franchises interested in signing him.
Harshal Patel: Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel is available for a base price of Rs 2 Crore but he will surely be amongst the top picks in the auction. One of the RCB blunders to have released him, Patel picked 32 wickets last season and has upped his base price to 2 cr.
Avesh Khan: Second-highest wicket-taker of IPL 2021, Avesh Khan is also available for a bargain price of Rs 20 lakh. The former Delhi Capitals pacer will be a target of his former team besides others.
Washington Sundar: The all-rounder missed the second half of last edition owing to injury. But he is fit to play this time. Considering he can bat deep and is an established T20 spinner, Sundar will be a bargain at Rs 1.5 cr.

Rahul Chahar: Despite a major dip in form, Rahul Chahar will be one of the top picks in IPL 2022 Auction. He is young and has established himself as one of the top leg-spinners.
Shardul Thakur: The newest all-rounder of Team India, Shardul Thakur will be one of the biggest gainers of IPL 2022 Auction. With 7/61 he showed his bowling skills in South Africa in Tests while scoring half-centuries in England and in South Africa. The immense improvement in batting will be rewarded in the auction with CSK aiming to get him back.
Deepak Chahar: Deepak Chahar impressed with his powerplay bowling and was instrumental in CSK’s title-winning campaign. While CSK will be eager to get him back, they will be in stiff competition with others especially with the batting skills he has improved on.

Trent Boult: Mumbai Indians were forced to let the Kiwi star pacer go due to retention restrictions. But Boult will be one of the top picks of the auction. His yorkers and in-swingers have been lethal and could be a big asset.
Pat Cummins: An ‘all-rounder’, Pat Cummins can not only bowl at 145kph with accuracy but the Australia Test captain can bat. After leaving KKR, he will looking for a new franchise and there will not be any dearth of that. He is expected to fetch big price at the auction.
Meanwhile, BCCI released a list of 1,214 players for the auction on Saturday. The list will be trimmed down to 250-300 after franchises put forward the list of players they are interested in.

The two-day mega auction is slated to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. A total of 33 players have been retained/picked ahead of the Player Auction. The existing eight IPL Franchises have retained a total of 27 players, including MS Dhoni by Chennai Super Kings, Rohit Sharma by Mumbai Indians and Virat Kohli by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The two new IPL teams have picked six players with Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul being named captain of the Ahmedabad and Lucknow franchise respectively
