As per a Cricbuzz report, all 10 franchises are still uncertain on the availability of overseas stars, especially those from England and Australia after BCCI revealed the list of 220 shortlisted players for the IPL 2022 Auction. The tournament is scheduled to be played for a duration of two months starting potentially on March 27, but an official schedule is yet to be announced.
The participation of English players for the entirety of the IPL 2022 was cast in doubt with a three-Test series against New Zealand to shortly begin after the IPL 2022. Following the Ashes debacle, England will want their players to have some red-ball practice and could recall their test starts midway through May to play in the County Championship. A host of English stars including Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Chris Woakes have already pulled out of the auction.

As for Australia, the presence of David Warner and Co has also been cast into doubt with a proposed tour of Pakistan on the cards. The series features four white-ball games to be played between March 29 and April 5.
The BCCI meanwhile has communicated to the teams that all information will be sent in due course. The report quoted BCCI saying, “The IPL 2022 Player Auction Rules and the availability details of Overseas players along with the update on the players who have been reported or banned for suspect bowling action will be sent in due course.”
