The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore where 590 players will go under the auction. The Delhi Capitals after retaining 4 of their superstars including skipper Rishabh Pant have a purse of 47.5 Cr to complete their team.

Delhi decided to let go of their previous skipper Shreyas Iyer and kept their in-form skipper Rishabh Pant for a salary cap of 16 Cr who is a destructive keeper and batter. Spinner Axar Patel was retained for 9 Cr while young batter Prithvi Shaw was kept for 7.5 Cr and lastly, Anrich Nortje was retained for 6.5 Cr

1. Top Order Batters
With Prithvi Shaw already slotted as the opener of the side, Delhi Capitals will ideally be targeting an overseas experienced opener. David Warner and Quinton de Kock are the most obvious choices to fill the spot. The deadly right-left-handed opening combo can disrupt any opponent. Rishabh is a deadly middle-order batter, however, Delhi needs a good top-order batting lineup and thus should be eyeing for some good overseas batters to fill the spot.

2. Complimenting Bowlers
Delhi has very cleverly retained two of its star bowlers. One is an ace spinner in the form of Axar Patel while Anrich Nortje is the pacer. Now Delhi needs to but at least two good bowlers to form a unique partnership with Axar and Nortje. It is usually preferable that Delhi reached out for an Indian pacer and an overseas spinner.

3. Rebuying their previous players
Delhi has released some of its great players owing to the new IPL 2022 Auction guidelines. And thus as a result DC will need to rebuy some of their previous star who can be a part of a set team. These include the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Shikhar Dhawan, Avesh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, and others.
