David Warner

David Warner has a phenomenal record in the IPL and is the leading run-getter among overseas players. While the Australian did have a season to forget last year, he bounced back in style to win the player of the tournament, helping Australia clinch their maiden T20 World Cup title. Warner fell out with the SRH management and was not retained, and will be on many team’s radar should his name be called out in the auction.

Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes hasn’t lived up to expectations since his move to Rajasthan Royals, but the England all-rounder will nonetheless back a huge price. His ability to slot anywhere in the batting order, his intensity and his ability to bowl medium pace at every stage of the game make him an asset. A game-changer, Ben Stokes is arguably the best all-rounder in the world at the moment and will command a huge price in the auction.

Kagiso Rabada

One of the finest bowlers in world cricket, Kagiso Rabada was released by the Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2022 auction as they opted to retain fellow pacer Anrich Nortje. Rabada is a stalwart of the game and an all-round bowler, with an ability to pick wickets at regular intervals and at all stages of the game. He is also a gun fielder, making him an asset for any team in the IPL. In his four seasons in the IPL, Kagiso Rabada has 76 wickets in 50 games, including a purple cap win in 2020.

Faf Du Plessis

The South African has been with Chennai ever since joining the IPL, with a stint at Pune during CSK’s suspension. He missed out on the Orange Cap by just two runs but helped CSK win their fourth IPL title. A stalwart at the top of the order, Faf du Plessis remains one of the finest T20 batters have honed his skills around the world and will be in for a huge hike following his IPL 2021 heroics.

Rashid Khan

The Afghan spinner Rashid Khan’s release from Sunrisers Hyderabad too came as a shocker for many as there is no doubt the leg spinner will start a bidding war in the mega auctions. Rashid Khan is unarguably one of the best spinners in the shortest format and has picked up 400 wickets in T20 cricket. Rashid Khan made his IPL debut with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 and was signed for Rs 4 crore. He has picked up 93 wickets in 76 matches for SRH in the tournament. He was retained by The Orange Army franchise for Rs 9 crore earlier in 2018 and decided to part ways in hope of getting a better price.
