Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow has been one of the consistent performers for England in white-ball cricket. He is a player who has the ability to bat anywhere in the batting order. He can give a rollicking start at the top of the order and can even fire at the middle order by tonking balls all around the ground.

He was picked up in the 2018 mega auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad and over the last four years, he has been an integral part of the side, opening along with David Warner. He has so far played 28 IPL matches and has scored 1038 runs, which includes a century and seven fifties, at an average of 41.

In IPL 2021, he played only in the first leg. With Warner struggling for form, he was the one who stepped up for the team. In the 7 matches that he played, he scored 248 runs at a strike rate of 141.71. Being a player who also has the ability to keep wickets, Bairstow is expected to fetch a heavy price in the upcoming auction.

Mark Wood

Mark Wood

Mark Wood is the kind of player who can clock 140+ pace consistently. IPL franchises will always be on the lookout for bowlers who can bowl fast and Mark Wood would be on the radar for the teams on the lookout for an out and out pace bowler.

Wood has played just one game in the IPL so far. His IPL debut came in the match where CSK made its re-entry into the IPL after serving a two-year ban. It turned out to be a forgettable outing as he conceded 49 runs in his four overs. Wood currently features for England in all three formats and he can fetch a big sum at the auction this year.

David Wiese

David Wiese

36-year old former South African all-rounder David Wiese turned out for Namibia in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and was impressive with both the bat and ball. He was the top scorer for his team in the tournament, scoring 227 runs in eight matches and also picking up 8 wickets.

In recent years, he has been playing across the world in almost every tournament and his all-round abilities can attract huge bids from teams during the IPL Auction 2022. Wiese already has the experience of playing in the IPL, as he turned out for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2016 edition where the team made it to the finals. Like how he made his international comeback in the T20 World Cup this year, one can expect Wiese to return to the IPL as well.
