  1. Afghanistan – Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Insidesport

With Rashid Khan signing for the newly-formed Ahmedabad team and Mohammad Nabi failing to impress in his Big Bash League stint with Melbourne Renegades, we can expect Mujeeb Ur Rahman to be the most expensive Afghan buy from the IPL 2022 auction. The 20-year-old off-spinner has played for Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in this competition. He has scalped 19 wickets in as many matches at an economy rate of 8.18 runs per over. The bidding for Mujeeb will start at INR 2 crore.

  1. Australia – David Warner

Insidesport

Australia’s swashbuckling left-handed batter, David Warner is not only expected to be the most expensive player from his country but he is certain to be among the highest earners from the auction. He has scored 5449 runs in 150 matches in this tournament at a fantastic average of 41.59 and a strike rate of 139.96. Besides being an outstanding batter, the 35-year-old is also a tried and tested skipper and led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL glory in 2016. Warner also had set a base price of INR 2 crore.

  1. Bangladesh – Shakib Al Hasan

Insidesport

Bangladesh’s superstar all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan played a crucial role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning campaigns in 2012 and 2014. The 34-year-old, who has represented Sunrisers Hyderabad as well, has played a total of 71 matches in this competition. He has scored 793 runs at a strike rate of 124.48 and has picked up 63 wickets at an economy rate of 7.43. He has also set the highest base price of INR 2 crore for himself.

  1. England – Jonny Bairstow

Insidesport

Jonny Bairstow made his IPL debut in 2019, and in the last three years, he has established himself as one of the top overseas performers in this competition. He has played a total of 28 matches for the Orange Army, in which he has scored 1038 runs at an average of 41.52 and a strike rate of 142.19. The bidding for him will start at INR 1.50 crore.

  1. India – Shreyas Iyer

Insidesport

Shreyas Iyer is likely to be the most expensive player for the IPL 2022 auction for two reasons. While he is a proven match-winner with the bat, having scored 2375 runs in 87 matches at an average of 31.66, Iyer is also an experienced captain, having led Delhi Capitals previously. Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are three teams who are looking for a new captain and Iyer can be the solution to their glaring problem. He has a base price of INR 2 crore.

  1. New Zealand – Trent Boult

Insidesport

Overseas pacers always tend to go for big bucks in an IPL auction and Trent Boult is very likely to continue the trend. The Kiwi pacer has played 62 matches in IPL, in which he has picked up 76 wickets at an average of 26.09 and an economy rate of 8.39 runs per over. He too has a base price of INR 2 crore.

  1. South Africa – Kagiso Rabada

Insidesport

Kagiso Rabada’s case is quite similar to Trent Boult – he is an international star, a gun pacer and is an IPL-proven cricketer. He has played 50 matches in this competition, in which he has picked up 76 wickets at an average of merely 20.52. The South African has a base price of INR 2 crore.

  1. Sri Lanka – Wanindu Hasaranga

Insidesport

Wanindu Hasaranga was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the second phase of IPL 2021 as Adam Zampa. Hasaranga’s base price is INR 1 crore.

  1. Ireland – Paul Stirling

Insidesport

Ireland’s destructive opener Paul Stirling has all the experience in the world, but strangely enough, he has never made it to the IPL.
