Timeline of the incident– Alzarri Joseph was tasked to bowl the final over of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) innings as the fourth ball of the final over was completely mistimed by Mahipal Lomror, who gave a simple catch to long-on fielder David Miller. But, that wasn’t the end for Lomror as he was adamant that the ball had hit the television cables, which would deem the delivery as ‘dead ball’.
Third Umpire agrees– As Alzarri Joseph and his team teammates were waiting anxiously, third umpire Nitin Menon was approached to have a look. After a brief look at the incident he agreed that the ball had hit the cable on its way to Miller and therefore the delivery should be a ‘dead ball’. The incident added more agony for bowler Alzarri Joseph.

Redemption for Joseph – The incident though saw another funny side as Lomror was dismissed by Joseph on the final ball of the innings, which saw him get his redemption. However, it came at a cost of six runs as Lomror scored a four and picked a double before bringing curtains to the innings. The rare incident though saw both teams in confused manner while GT prepared to take guards for their innings.
