Another player from the Southern region of India, Karnataka, was the highlight of the IPL Auctions of 2021. The Chennai Super Kings went all in for the All-Rounder and with the other few franchises chipping in, Krishnappa Gowtham became the most expensive uncapped Indian player in the history of IPL. Although he first made his entry to the league in 2017 with Mumbai Indians but couldn’t get a game there. It was only starting from 2018 that the all-rounder started accentuating and made some notable performances.
With his sharp Off-Spinners, he is an effective bowler in crunch situations and can also hit the long ball. Overall his services with both bat and ball are noteworthy. In IPL 2021, he will be seen donning the yellow jersey while playing under the best of the best, MS Dhoni.
Overall in the IPL, he has 186 runs from 24 matches but 15 of those games came in 2018 where he smashed 126 runs at a strike rate of 196.87.
